Darjeeling Express Appoints Julien Angot as General Manager for new Covent Garden Restaurant

London: The Darjeeling Express announced the appointment of Julien Angot as General Manager for new Covent Garden Restaurant. Julien Angot, who recently worked for PPHE Hotel Group (PPHE), has joined the Darjeeling Express team and owner, Asma Khan. His energy, breadth of knowledge and experience will be a huge asset to our new Covent Garden restaurant which will feature both a tasting menu dining experience and a deli counter,” said Asma Khan, CEO of Darjeeling Express. “Julien brings considerable hospitality experience and understands how important it is for the service to reflect the ethos of the food  and the story of the journey.. The challenge of opening a restaurant at a time like this has been made a lot easier with Julien by my side. He is already part of the Darjeeling Express team and family.”

“I was very excited when Asma told me about the move to Covent Garden. Only she could be so daring to open a new place in the middle of a pandemic, but her vision and fighting spirit are the vectors pushing this project and I am ready to support and launch the new Darjeeling Express restaurant, and one of the only openings this year,” said Julien Angot. “Our new location is fantastic and the food is exactly how you remember it from Kingly Court, cooked with patience and passion by the same amazing team of women. We can’t wait for everyone to experience our tasting menu or just pop by the Deli by Darjeeling Express for our famous Masala Chai on to go.”

Julien Angot joins Darjeeling Express from PPHE Hotel Group and before that spent 16 years in the hospitality industry, and held many senior roles including, F&B Operation Manager at the Park Plaza Riverbank, and London Marriott Hotel Park Lane. Julien Angot was also Assistant F&B Director at the Royal Lancaster London during its renovation to a 5 star hotel. Originally from France, Julien's passion for hospitality started through his mom’s love to host dinner parties.
